a VR wont allow raised rev limter

must be a chip epprom change

DaveyLC

A lot of these things arent even 'chip's they are just a VR that you solder inline with the AFM/MAF.

Total waste of time.

techicaly speaking it is remapping it as changing the ecu chip for one with a revised file, hence why it will have a higher rev limter

"The names have been changed in the following story to protect the inoccent, namely me being sued.
Once upon a time there was a tuning company, for this story lets call them AM.....errrr. The new quite far in advance they were going into receivership so were a little lacklustre shall we say with stock managment..ahem....then along came a big company cally large mens toys who bought them out. During the many years AM.....er....had been in business they had developed a wide range of generic maps for predominantly Vw/audi/seat ect vehicles. When it came to shut up shop, rather absentmindeldy someone had lost all the originall software for these maps. How very carless of them. Then coincidently and in no way related someone on ebay began selling generic chipsets for vw/audi/seat etc
hmm...."

Ah cool, in that case just get it running normal power first before adding gay ebay mods...you will be shocked with the speed difference in a c20xe from a x14xe trust me...

Anything that's sold as a "professional" item with Comic Sans font on it is something I'd steer clear of tbh

brad, have you even got a c20xe? last time i looked you had a 1.2?

You can't get the XE ECUs re-mapped. Cams, you're looking at about £4-500 with vernier pulleys.

I don't know exactly what it is so won't argue the point, I'm just going by the fact that they're acknowledging that you get cheap chips but are saying that's not what they are.

fucking hell man think about it, "these chips have been tuned on a rolling road" but what mods did the car have that they used? if it was none, whats going to happen if someone fits one of these to a car with engine mods? these chips are a waste of time and money, if you want a power gain then take your ECU to get re-mapped or buy some cams, don't waste money on a chip that isn't going to work.

it says its not like cheap resitors tht trick your ecu. it apparently gives you a 500 rpm limoter increase but also they can raise it to what you want for free
