Hi all, has been a while since i was on here last, hope everyone is well and is having a good start to 2010.
Just thought i would post a few pics of my XE Tigra spring clean.
Thought i would take the lump out and give it a good clean and service, new gasgets, belts, lifters and to tart it up a bit.
After being ripped out of my corsa and thrown into the tigra with little attention to detail, i think its time to neaten everything up.
heres my tigra :
and when i swapped the engine into it from my corsa:
My filthy redtop:
into the Tigra:
all done:
that was a fair while back, since then i have been using a barge of a merc, and now a rust bucket of an astra.
having missed the smell of grease, oil and petrol, i wanna get the tigra show worthy to an extent.
so out came the engine last weekend and i gave it a clean:
getting there:
and the bit my missus hates the most
heres the bit im not too happy about...a big fat dirty chunk out of the block!!:
it looks like it was filled with instant gasget in the past and it seemed to be alright as it wasnt leaking, i was thinking of filling it with chemical metal and tapping a thread into it to see if it holds.
I have some Unibond Repair metal for good here but wasnt sure if it would be any good for use on a block as it said it suitable upto 100 degrees, would i be better getting some plastic padding chemical metal or you think this will be alright.??
