quote: Awesome cheers mate. As for the rest of it, I haven't got bike carbs or bodies yet, it's something I'm considering though and as I said at first, I assume the mapping would be the hardest part if it hasn't been done before (although it appears it has)

quote: how do you hook up a vaux dizzy to a dizzyless zetec? you sure its not the coilpack they use? You would have to do some major work to the head and the camshaft, as dizzys normally run from the camshaft.

quote: You dont have to.IIRC the ford boys use a Vaux dizzy on the bike carbd Zetecs. Itl probably work out cheaper and less hassle to run aftermarket management though.

It would work on an old redtop with a dizzy, but a x16xe doesn't have a dizzy so you HAVE to have an ignition ecu.

if you are getting management seems silly not to go for bike throttle bodies as they are about the same price.

quote: well good luck controlling the spark then without megajolt or similar then, as its not going to happen, you cant fit a dizzy on to a small block. quote: thats how the spark is sorted on the 20xe it has a dizzy [Edited on 14-01-2010 by philip2]

i dont think the megajolt is nesasery i aint a carb expert but my cousin has a 2.0 xe running on twin 45's and all he bought ignition wise was the coil and the distributor from bog brothers no ecu required ony thing he needed to wire was a fuel pump

Can a dizzy not be fitted and ran off an aux belt??

I was going to say exactly what Phil did, you'll need megajolt to control the ignition side of things with either.

you still need ignition control, either go for something like megajolt or buy an ignition only ecu.

Firstly to clear things up for me is there a difference between bike carbs and bike throttle bodies? I've been told conflicting stories. |
