good car had one before i got my zafira should of kept it tbh never missed a beat good on fuel motorways were a breeze sold it last yr for 1.3k was gutted that it went for so little

also think the chains are spose to last the life of the car... can't remember :lol:

where the 2.2's go wrong is oil change's and oil filter changes should be done religously as the oil squirter that oils the timing chain can become blocked and timing chain failure or the "rattle" starts our vectra is the 2.2 sri and run's smooth as anything could'nt and still cant hear it when its idleing :lol:

what is the bhp on the 2.2 is it around the 150 mrk?

ok cool cheers thanks for the advice ive seen one near me for sale say its got full srvice history but doesnt say if the belt has been changed but the car has only done 45000 miles

they are meant to last alot longer than the belts also if you do get a smaller engine one with a belt they are meant to be done every 40k with tensioner as they are pants they tick on start up is the first warning

on the chains i think they start with a small amount of rattle cause i think if memory is working properly there was an oil supply problem near the crank although dont qoute me on that

cool didnt know that they had timing chain so ill look out for if its been chaned,what sort of millege should it be changed? same as a timing belt around the 60000 mrk?

check for timing chain history can be a very costly thing to do and i have heard of them failing but nice cars to drive i had a 2.0l was nice on the motorway other than that typical vaux stuff air flow sensors etc like to play around

looking at changing the corsa b for an astra 2.2 sri as i am now doing more motorway driving and yes it is fun in a throttle boded corsa but not very smooth so has anyone had one are they good for motorway driving? the engine strong,things to look out for?
ant help would be good thanks
