Royal Mail ones don't have a lot of mileage but apparently they can do up to 1000 gear changes per day.

Some of the best to get are British Gas, because some times they drive to one location and stay there all day etc.

Apparently the 1.7Di isn't much quicker on paper than a 12v Corsa, apart from onces it's moving because of more torque. Then there isn't much between a 1.3CDTi and 1.7DTi.

We had one at my old job, it was an ex-Royal Mail 1.7 Di. I thought it was quite quick, but then again I'm used to the 12v

It actually had fair mileage on it, not as much as I was expecting for an ex-RM one. It coped quite well with carrying loads and being thrashed about, imo at least.

I haven't driven any others but that's my experience

My mate has the 1.3 CDTi and is pretty impressed with it overall considering engine size etc. Certainly isn't a slouch

well if this helps, i work for fed-ex and show absolutly no mercy on the van, nor does anyone else.

I've driven both corsa vans, but just short stints, 1.7 felt alright, the same engine in a line of different vauxhall models. The 1.3 felt pretty dire to be honest, depends what the use of the van is, if carrying anything i'd avoid the 1.3

I have a 1.7cdti bigger turbo model (red TI on the badge), its like shit off a shovel and the mpg is very good.

I can carry a full load and it doesnt affect the performance of it, 1.3 was way toslow when loaded for me.

My mate has the 1.7cdti smaller turbo engine which is excellent on fuel and is pretty nippy as well

thats awesome, cheers mate. i will obviously have a drive of all of them but i was swaying towards the 1.3 because i have heard 60mpg is achievable?

On my phone so bare with me.

The 1.7Di is a turbo engine but isn't intercooled and rather slow. It's a typical diesel engine. Then you have the 1.7DTi which is intercooled. 1.3CDTi on paper is the same as a 1.7DTi. The one to try and get is the 1.7CDTi.

Out of the ones you're going to see the 1.3's will be so much nicer, plus be newer and potentially be in better condition. I don't think the turbos blowing on them is a particularly common problem!

going to have a look and drive of a few corsa c (combo) vans tomorow, of various ages and engines and i dont really know much about the engines. 2 are 1.7di and 1 is a 1.3cdti. now in my head i seem to remember that the vauxhall 1.7 diesel can chew through fuel pumps, would this be right? and i have heard the 1.3 tends to blow turbo's? or is this all a load of pub talk bullsh*t?

any info would be much appreciated especially personal experience, mpg figures, reliability, service intervals etc etc. thanks in advance
