For what it's worth, i'd put your hand in your pocket and buy a brand new one.

Fuck using a DTI

If you were really that bothered I think the only way to properly check it would be with a DTI or similair suitable measuring eqipment.

Is there a way to tell a good 2nd hand one, to a worn 2nd hand one? I understandabout blue, or very worn lobes, but how to tell a mint one? As a new one from vaux is over 200quid! and a 2nd hand one is about 30 quid lol!

no problem had the magazine to hand anyway :). most people set vernier to 7 degrees retarded approx half a tooth but as said to get most rollers would be best bet

Scott, I was thinking of doin it, but to get the most out of it, i need it set up on the rollers, which i cant do.

oli, cheers for that, well the engine ive got has done 4k, and was a new manufactured unit, so im sure it would be a decent increase, 20bhp, seems quite a bit, il def get it done!! :)

autmumn 2007 issue 76. REsults shown from mag were an increase of approx 20bhp and 47lb/ft, but bearing in mind car used was said to of had a healthy engine so would vary on car/engine condition

think the best way to do it is run it with a venier (sp) then you can dial it in better, think the gains are about 7-10bhp but i may be wrong

Can anyone remember which months total vauxhall had the guide to this, and what bhp increase it was proven to have gained? Thinking about doin this as the next step. ;)
