I done a flame red corsa a bit back, was really faded, used red tcut and put meguires stage 1 wax over the t cut and took them both off together, the finnish was awesome.

Looks good, you have a bit newer paint though so its a bit harder for me! Ive used super resin before and its good at its job but doesnt seal very well and oxidisation comes back.

By the way, a bit off topic but are you still selling those tigra alloys in the pics?

Yeah. The corsa is a second car so i am thinking of getting a car cover to put over it once ive done all the paint work. Will only be coming out on weekends and events so i dont want it soaking up uv's while im not out in it!

Ive got a fair bit of mcguirs kit and i have the wax they do too so will be out bright and early tomorrow giving it a shot!

I have also just gone out and used a touch of red colourfast t-cut on an inconspicuous area and its come up a treat so might use it with caution!

Will keep you all posted and will hopefully post up some pics when shes done!

Also, will this seal the paint because i dont want to be out every weekend polishing it back as if its a weekly thing!

I can supply you with the Banana Armour wax, but nothing else. I would also suggest in between polishing and waxing, to use Britemax UV resistant sealant, that will then help to fight off the rays that will fade your paintwork again. Unfortunately though, red will not stay red without a bit of effort every now and then.

I would suggest to check out Clean Your Car or Elite Car Care, the britemax sealant comes from i4detailing

it took me a week to do mine, didnt say it was easy lol

since ive used my g220 on it and menzerna polish it hasnt faded again.

one other is bilthamber autobalm, i used it for a bit, it polishes the oxidation, prevents rust and seals in one an is easy to apply. you will have to do it once a month though to stop the oxidation coming back but its still easier and safer to use on paint than using t-cut.

If your on dw have a look at bilthamber and see the reviews on it

I just used a t-cut with a machine polisher, got a few litres of t-cut from a bodyshop (cheaper than halfords little bottles) works really well just hard around edges but well worth it!

I've done it before using T-Cut and Polish together.

- Mix T-Cut and polish together on a cloth 50/50
- Rub that onto the paint and allow to dry to a haze
- Then using Autoglym SRP, polish off the T-Cut

Still requires a fair amount of effort.
Just hate using T-Cut on it's own.

I am a member of detailingworld.co.uk. Loads of stuff on there but its information overload. I carry out the two bucket method etc and have detailed other cars before, but this is oxidation so i want to get it right first time.

www.cleanyourcar.co.uk is great!

depends how oxidised it is. If its light then auto glym super resin polish but if its heavy it has to be t cut but followed up by super resin polish. I wouldnt normally say use it but in bad cases of oxidation the pros outway the cons. This is what i did before having a machine polisher. In my project thread i have a 50/50 shot of it.

If you could get your hands on a machine polisher then mernz 106FA on a polishing pad does a great job.

A megs glaze or a red moose glaze would be good to prevent more oxidation.

Then add a wax like collinite 476s for durability or vic concours if you want some extra depth. keep it topped up though to prevent the oxidation occuring again

Guess I ought to reply to this one!

By hand I personally wouldn't use anything more aggressive than AG Super Resin, though a lot of people will say T Cut and G3.

By machine, something like Meguiars 83 followed by 80 would be good.

You will then want to wax it using something like Collinite 476s or Dodo Juice Banana Armour.

I use a product called Klasse AIO. Basically cleans the paint and removes all the oxidisation. It doesn't cut so you can put it on by hand and just wipe it off.

You'll probably need to use something that cuts to sort the paint out but thats machine territory really - also something the detailing nerds will be able to tell you more about!

I tend to wash, clay, klasse, polish, wax!

Hi All,

Really need to pull my finger out and get the flame pink corsa back to flame red.

Has anyone got any success stories other than a lot of elbow grease and patience?

I am a member of detailing websites, but i dont really know the best route for heavy oxidation and sealing paintwork back to showroom condition.

Any advice would be appreciated
