Wont lose his license but still worth reporting them to DVLA!

You cant change mileage once its inputted but you have to send the ticket off to the VOSA who will change it and send it back.

I know this as we fucked up at work and put summit like 102222 rather than 10222

You can change the mileage, ring vosa for instructions of how to do it. I had to do it when it was pointed out to me the clocks on the bike were in km not miles after i had printed the test sheet and this was around 6 days after doing it

you cant change the mileage on them by issueing a replacement if its after 1 day , you can change colour etc but not mileage , unless they have changed it in last year or so as i havent fvcked one up for along time to need to find out

Its possible to change it an issue another certificate. Its not hard to do either it will take about 10 minutes and vosa will shaft him if he doesnt sort it out so phone the test station and tell they you want it correcting and a replacement certificate or your going to call vosa and have them investigated.

did he even try to change it on the day? i know it doesnt matter now as after 1 day i dont think you can alter the mileage on it

The garage is 100 miles or so away.

SportBoy

go down to the garage and ask them if you can have somthing in writing that the mileage is wrong on the mot certificate?

If I do more than 4k miles this year, it won't be as much of a problem. Its a pain though, as I went for a bike that had all its paperwork in order and then the garage messed it up!

possible but for the sake of 4k?

On bikes 4k is alot IMO

No proof as such, other than the fact that the clocks haven't been tampered with and it was mentioned to him at the time.

Don't want to put a downer on the situation but professionals could easily make anything look like it hasnt been tampered with so.. If he really doesnt want to, I think you may struggle.

They have to correct it. Think they can change it up to 10 days after test. Tell them you will contact vosa if they dont. That will make them do it!

Might be a problem, as it was MOT'd by the previous owner as I was buying it. Its not a local garage so not easy to get back to him.

As above.

MOT tester tested my bike on Thursday, but put the mileage down as 17xxx instead of 13xxx. Theres no way i'll do 4k on it before the next MOT.

It was mentioned to him at the time, but he said that he couldn't change it once it had been submitted (which is wrong, as he could have corrected it).

Where do I stand on getting it corrected or sorted out? I'm more annoyed that it makes it harder to confirm the mileage in future and can bugger up any future HPI checks.
