Originally posted by Warren G after having every single type of inlet manifold for the x14xe/x16xe engines apart from the velo and dbalis one (similar to the mantzel), i have come to the conclusion; mantzel powerbox - is great for high reving driving, but NEEDS to rev to 7250rpm to make it worth while, as the power only kicks in after 5000rpm, so with the standard rev limiter you drop out of the power and have to wait for it to pick up again. So is pointless without a higher rev limit due to by the time you hit the powerband the person you are racing has already pulled away out of the corner with lower down grunt. Lexmaul inlet - kicks in at 4000rpm and gives smooth power to the rev limiter. and has abit of low down grunt too, to save dropping a gear. Isnt much better than the standard inlet though. Standard inlet - gives smooth power to over 6000rpm with a few other mods, and picks up well at low revs. And sounds the best!!! The only way to get the most out of the lexmaul is to have it remapped to gain the most out of it. and the mantzel to have a remap with a 7250rpm+ rev limiter. with out the remap you will notice minimal difference from the standard inlet to the lexmaul. and you will have flat spots with the mantzel best mod, and cheapest for the x14xe - fit a x16xe top inlet as the ports are 5mm bigger and add a few bhp (thats what im currently running) what do other people think?
