Originally posted by BaNNi I'm also looking into this, well I've looked into it but I'm now looking for a diesel to test on. Basicaly its down to your fuel pump, it must be a bosch one for best effect and not very noticeable as it reduces alot of smoke. Currently MK3 Golf's use the bosch one and mk3 fiesta's do. My friend runs his fiesta and corsa combo on it, heres the figures per full tank: £5 Diesel + Top the rest up with veg oil. He gets 5-600 miles per tank and fiesta tanks aint that big! Used oil runs better i.e. from chip shop / takeaways and the best bit is you will get it free as it saves them paying to get it disposed of. As for any damage it does, non at all, Diesel engines where first invented to run on Veg Oil, but of course the government had to take a stand hence the excessive prices of diesel. Also with the better fuel pump (Bosch) your emissions will be a hell of alot lower than normal diesel, and also pass mot first time no quibbles :) Hope thats helpfull to read i'll post up some links to some good reads about using it ..etc Or go on you tube and search "Biodiesel" or anything along those lines, new 307 diesels are one of the best newest cars to use it with. ... And it runs even better on Turbo Diesels. From my friend who runs this on both his cars; "Engine runs alot smoother, more responsive and of course ALOT cheaper :) .. I get funny looks filling up at the cash and carry with a barrel of veg oil :)" Only downside is; on a cold start morning it will take a little longer to start but once it does it's ready to go anywhere! Hope this helps!
