How much is loads more? Is a remap enough to justify it? If i can skip the intercooler i will. Dont wanna waste money for more lag, and no more power.

Will an air filter make much of a difference? Or just better throttle response?

The car doesn't need a bigger intercooler unless you are going for loads more boost...

is definatly has the intercooler. it sits just in front of the radiator quite low behind the bumper. Follow the pipework from the air filter and you'll find it. On the corsa anyway. Will check out that site now. See what i can find on there. Would an uprated one make any difference? Or just add more lag?

I think certain versions of this engine on different cars have a charge cooler rather than intercooler.

EDIT:

Looked at angeltuning website. With a remap alone. The 70hp version will get extra 20hp. IE upto 90HP. So maybe turbo's arent so different?

vx put the intercooler behind the front bumper, it is mounted horizontally. have a look through the front bumper if u can, it may be there!

And I could have missed it on my car

They are nippy, well pleased with mine!

hmm, vauxhall may have put the intercooler on when designing the car, who knows, just tellin from experience. they go alrite for a 1.3 though!

Though it could have a charge cooler seeing as the pipework for the boost goes into a sea of plastic on the top of the engine...

My Fiat with the 90bhp engine doesn't have an intercooler.

tbh, i think all have intercoolers. i fit a turbo to a 1.3cdti corsa a few months back, and that had an intercooler. fit a radiator to a corsa c combo last week and that also had one. im guessing they all have one if a corsa cdti life has one?

I don't think that the 70bhp engines even have intercoolers. the 90bhp ones don't...

The 90bhp engines see about 30bhp from a re-map. I would asume that the 70bhp engines would be pretty responsive too...

Check out http://www.angeltuning.co.uk as they have the power gains listed on thier site.

Ah crap. I was hoping for a quick and easy remap. Dam.

How much benefit am i going to get from a remap, uprated intercooler and Air filter combo?

Mine is the 70hp version btw

i believe it to be, the 70 and 75bhp 1.3's are in the corsa c and corsa d's which differ if the vehicle is a sportier model eg. sxi. the 90bhp will be in the astra H, ive heard it has a different turbo, and also in the astra a 6-speed box.

The 90bhp engine has a variable vane turbo which is more efficient and is meant to prevent lag.

I think the 90bhp has a different turbo, def not just the map.

So far iv seen 3 versions of this engine. 70, 75 and 90Hp versions. Whats the difference between these engines. And can a lower performance model be modded to a higher spec?
