depends on what condition you find an XE isn't it?! by the time you've rebuilt it all and fitted it you could have kept the x16, cheaper insurance, no worry about handling issues of extra weight. i can't weight to start tuning mine!! jus need to sort all the niggly bits out at the mo!

150bhp 16xe will be less to build than getting a decent 20xe in with a conversion kit and new belts/gaskets.

Tbh, i think you should keep the x16xe and tune it. People say it costs more to tune an x16xe as apose to a c20xe, but where you save the money tunning the c20xe, you spend trying to make it handle.

i did not do a xe cos ov lazyness, i did it because i like bigger engines and torquer engines, my x16xe could never in million years feel like my xe no matter what tuning you do when torque is the issue. but its each to there own:thumbs:

if its an x16xe allready, keep it, decent inlet, manifold and cam;s all sub 1k, and it will be a quick little car

Bit of a difference then..i could probs get red top power with a re map..cams and inlet manifold..why do more people opt for the redtop when u can tune the x16xe :S

Can't decide whether to tune up the x16xe over time or wait and save up for a red top conversion. Surely it would handle better with the x16xe engine in but more raw power with a redtop hmm..,plus theres the cost bit....probs be cheaper to buy a corsa with a redtop already fitted..but i love my corsa so would have to be a proper nice corsa......hmm |
