Just noticed that the CV comes off of the equal length stuff as it is held on with a circlip. Still need a new one though as this one is a bit broke :(

:!:!:! Whereabouts was that!!!

I used to work in two Different Car Accesory Shops dealing with parts and the cheapest quote i ever gave a customer was £48 for an old Subaru Justy :|

my Corsa was £58 a Joint and £40 a Shaft and that was with my staff discount :|

Unless maccesss or somewhere Quoted you the Price as that would roughly be the Cost price of the CV Joints for my old Corsa :|

No Offence but they must be telling you bullshit :| either that or their Suppliers are tight bastids :|

Alternators Somecompanies offer recon only, Gearboxes ssame again, Diffs NEVER been asked for one so wouldn't know, But CV's I have ordered New ones plenty of times

Direct offer New and Recon, so do Trupart, WST and Pearl, Try your local ADS, Maccess or a company called Steering Rack Sevices (SRS.. but i dont know if they are only located in Glasgow/Edinburgh) they should be able to sort you out with something..

Although you may have to be patient when asking Anyone at maccess my dealings with the ones up here werent to pleasent they are thick bastards up here

They can, they do a replacement service so if I take in a knackered CV then they will give me a recon one for about £50 I think :|

only problem is they give you the Same CV back :| so if you hand in the CV on the Shaft they'll give you a cv on a shaft back! then your back to square one

better trying to get one brand new CV thats is seperate from the shaft for a Cav 2.0 16v mate, if the are charging you about £50 for a recon chances are you wont pay more than £75-£80 for a new one

that to me looks like it doesnt come off :|

Have you tried a Motor factors to see if they can Supply a Seperate CV Joint From a Cav GSi??? Sometimes companies like Direct (who manufacture the CVJoint) do a seperate CV but the manufacturer (in your case Vaux) only do a Full Driveshaft with CVs at each end :|

IYea, so is mine, but I have Cossvaux driveshafts that aren't equal length, I have a long one and a short one. I guess the long one goes in where the equal length stuff does so I need a different CV... Totally confused
