quote: happened on the old engine in mine, said they were going down the motorway & the cambelt just let go & whole engine was wasted! suppose another thing to make sure of really - find out how often its been serviced & ask for proof - mine has full history from the day it was bought which was nice :)

Yea, i loved the videos! saw them when u posted them. The guy said the engine had a rebuild in january so it should be in excellent condition! however the reason it was rebuilt was because the cam belt snapped....

C16XE will feel more torquey as it kicks in lower down, where as the X16XE comes in higher up the rev range & kicks in a bit harder (from what I have felt anyways)

I can't decide between the '94 Gsi and the '95 onwards one! I drove a '94 one yesturday and it didn't feel very quick, it was torquey to begin with but never really picked up much...My sri seemed to have more top end? is the pre-ecotec easier to tune due to it not having a mass air meter or somthing?? I know i posted something similar the other day but i'm still stuck. Cheers!:) |
