similar engine bt not 'exact' IIRC but it will be pulling a far bigger car so not as quick as the 1.6 corsa/tigra

No, that would be X16XEL

100bhp, again capable of same power output as the X16XE and C16XE as soon as you start tuning it.

With regards to Mantzel box, you would need a unichip to make sure you made the most of the box.

yeh i'm going to stick him under the bonnet:lol:

manzel as in manzel power box is probably the only tuning i'd be doing.

another question a 96 1.6 vectra..... would these be the same engine?

i was in a taxi home from the pub the other night and it felt quite torquey:o

If you plan on tuning them then the differences between the two engines soon disapear.

Only as standard is there a difference.

Torque for the X16XE peaks at around 105lb/ft at 4k RPM, but the C16XE has 110 lb/ft at 3500RPM. This means peak torque is reached sooner, allowing the car to accelerate more rapidly. Peak power on the other hand is indentical, with both being reached at around 5500RPM. Also, there is a different compression ratio in the C16XE than the X16XE. The bore and stroke are both the same IIRC.

between a GSI and a 1.6 SPORT.

yes there 3BHP but is there anything else.

the way i see it is that if i get a X16XE out of a tigra or a sport i get an engine that will have alot less mile on it and probably wont have been kaned all its life...:o
