we give MORE money back - whats so hard to understand

Your student account is the one where your grants/loans end up. Anything else shouldn't be classed a student account and if bank weren't desperate for business they wouldn't let you do it. Having said that, most places will let you get in to a few thousand of overdraft in conjunction with student loans and consolidate it all in to a nice graduate loan which will earn them a few grand in interest, so its worth them giving you a bit of free cash at the moment.

I'm 26 and still paying mine off, its only 75 quid per month which doesn't break the bank but anything mortgage wise takes that in to consideration, don't mess yourself up later in life for the sake of a few quid now.

I have 2, one with Lloyds and the other with Natwest, loan goes into Natwest account. They have been like that for 3 years and no problems, but they do random tests on people such as my mate Danny, who got caught and they gave him 2 weeks to pay off his overdraft unles he would have been in caught. Most of the time your ok, I just opened one and didnt touch it for a month, that way if they caught me i didn't owe anything.

Trust me they know how many bank accounts you have got, they could tell you how much on average you spend on sandwhiches everyday if you bought them on a debit/credit card.

Bet they do. They know loads of stuff bout your credit ratings etc. Hell, they can tell if you even applied for a loan somewhere at some point.

The bank will ask that ur student loan goes into the account direct from the SLC.

If u dont agree to have this done then they will think that u have another account and therefore not open another one for u....

A way around this would be to say ur getting the money paid by cheque and that u will pay it in as soon as u have it, then when u get the loan pay it in2 the new account and immedietly take it out and put it into one of ur old ones!

Fair bit of leg work like but it shud get u another account ;)

Natwest werent like that for me.

As long as I provided proof that I was actually at uni they didnt say that a certain amount or that all my loan had to go in for them.

Try Natwest in that case. :)

oh i see, so im not meant to have more than one student account, but it is possible!

so, they wont actually ask if i have another student account then? but say that my student loan will automatically have to come into this account? which is ok anyway as my student loan doesnt even go into my other student account anyway :boggle:
