Hehehe its from my 220 Turbo, you lot are close, its not a bleed valve tho, its a GBE Boost controller, i was teasing "motorspeed" and he hadnt a clue!

well if you tell us whereabouts its come from, we might be able to help? Doesnt look like its something to do with braking as not high pressure connections/hoses, so that leaves airflow. From the knurled bit and the hoses, I'd agree with big eck and say its a bleed valve for regulating boost
