Don't waste your money.

Been proven time & time again to be nothing but an absolute waste of time.

The only way you wil get 100ron is if you use touline, or go to www.76racing.co.uk & spend some serious $$$ on proper fuel.

Whatever you do, don't use Optimax, it been proven to be voletile & Shell are in fact being taken to court at present by the ASA (Advertising Standards Agency) of the supposed ron rating & effectiveness of Optimax.

It's not for any power gain's, but the rx7 i'm picking up is highly tuned and don't want to run it on anything less then 100ron as peace of mind and safety more then anything else!
Also gonna stick some in the eclipse

Talking about increases of 0.x in octane

Local motorfactors may sell Millers Oils tho.... they will be able to get CVL in if they dont stock it...

Millers Competition Valve Lubricant gives the biggest increase in Octane (more than their Octane Booster) compared to other brands. I wouldn't bother with anything else

Millers CVL

Description
Valve seat lubricant and combustion enhancer based on advanced manganese chemistry.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Application
* Use as received, 1 bottle [250 mls] to 20 litres [maximum] unleaded petrol for all motorsport applications.
* Precise treatment levels should be determined by test bed experimentation

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

User Benefits
* Enables older competition engines to run on unleaded fuel.
* Proven MMT [manganese] chemistry protects against valve seat recession.
* Provides similar flame front control as lead thereby enabling engines to run more advanced ignition timing without danger of pre-ignition or detonation.
* Mixes with leaded, unleaded, LRP and other fuels containing octane enhancing additives such as oxygenates, ethanol and MTBE.
* Equally effective in modern engines fitted with knock sensors. [Should not be used if a catalyst exhaust system is fitted].

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Performance Profile
* Based on same chemistry as Millers VSP Plus which is endorsed by FBHVC as a lead substitute to prevent V.S.R.
* Complies with MSA Blue Book regulations.
* Complies with F.I.A. Fuel Regulation. Appendix V.
* Used by an increasing number of engine builders to compensate for the deterioration in pump fuel.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Viscosity / Typical Characteristics
Density 0.883
Pale Orange Liquid

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Health and Safety
Health and Safety Data Sheet 1301 applies to this product. When used for the purpose recommended and with due regard to the appropriate Health and Safety Data, the product should cause no concern. If in doubt, consult with Millers Oils Technical Department.

millers Octane Plus

Description
* Octane enhancer for both catalyst and non-catalyst vehicles.
* Petroleum distillate fractions carrying manganese chemistry.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Application
* Add the bottle contents [250 mls] to 50 litres of unleaded petrol [premium or super] for catalyst equipped vehicles.
* Vehicles without catalytic converters may safely increase the concentration to 1 bottle [250 mls] to 25 litres of unleaded petrol.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

User Benefits
* Enhances performance by increasing octane values typically by 1.6.
* Reduces pinking and possibility of pre-ignition and detonation by controlling the flame front [manner in which the fuel burns].
* Improves fuel consumption and gives smoother running.
* 95 premium unleaded becomes equivalent of 97 super plus unleaded.
* 97 super plus unleaded typically increases to 99 octane.
* Reduces emissions of nitrogen oxides [NOx] and Carbon Monoxide [CO].

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Performance Profile
* Can be safety used on cars with or without catalysts depending on treatment levels.
Proven over 20 years.
* Maintains catalyst efficiency by scavenging 'front end phosphorous'.
* Fully compatible with oxygenates, ethanol containing fuel and MTBE treated fuels.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Viscosity / Typical Characteristics
Colour: Pale yellow/orange
Density: 0.818
Avoid exposure to light.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

the stuff you get in halfords/ripspeed etc is pish

millers cvl....

from a site

'The general consensus is that the better the octane of the fuel the better the performance of you car will be. Obviously this has a physical limit, but in the UK its more a question of not being able to get decent fuel to allow any level of improvement. This is a particular problem for Japanese import cars which may have been mapped from the factory to run on 101ron fuel which is freely available in Japan.
Torque IC recommend using Millers Octane booster to improve the RON rating of the fuel you are using. A single bottle of Millers is advertised as bringing the rating up by up to 2 RON points. Combined with Optimax and similar fuels this can bring the rating up to 100ron or higher.

On cars with knock sensors this higher octane fuel allows increased levels of boost to be maintained without the same level of knock, which can in turn provide a level of safety when using the car in high stress environments.

The TIC staff use Millers on a regular basis as the performance increase is noticeable.
