No the thing is that the standard speakers may be 13cm (I was wrong admittedly) but the speakers are built into their own adapters so if you wanna change your speakers you need a new adapter anyway.

The Autoleads kit comes with the extension wires you need to connect the new speakers up. The adapter also has space for the new speakers screws as they always use 4 and not 3.

Yeah wires are just the same for any speaker.
But u'll need the adaptor no matter what.
The standard speakers are held in on a base with 3 screws, in a triangle shape.
Speakers come with 4 screws in a square shape. Also the adaptor holds the speaker forward enough so it doesn't foul ur window when u wind it down.
Most car accesory shos sell Autoleads kits for about £15.

wouldn't matter wot size you got for wiring them up matem its fitting them behind the door pocket that causes a size issue

so if i get some 13cm ones i can just use the same wires basically? just swop them over with no problems?

Standards are 13cm (5.25") but like Markus says, Autoleads adaptor can fit 13cm and 17cm (6.5")

I think the standards are 10cm. But you can getting fitting adapters made by Autoleads that change the fitable size to 13cm and 17cm, around £10-£15 depending where you go.
