I wouldn't do it Skinner, unless your going to buy a phase 2, then put a 2.0 gti 180 engine in it if you can get hold of one ;)

do that and wave bye bye to most 2.0 litres on the road

And i wouldn't say the GTi 180 engine is too new to get hold of (just befiore any smartarses do) there was a guy with an Astra at the Astrasport meet on Sunday with a 888 engine in his now they are only a couple of years old ;) bound to be a few GTi 180's smashed already ;)

phase 2's are grp 11. They are also alot more torquey than the 1300's. & £2.5k is too much IMO. 1.3 are approx 100BHP and the 1.6 are approx 105BHP standard.

The phase 2's are basically a toned down GTI hense there expensive to buy and insure.

2.5K is abit much for the year, i'd pay no more than 1.5k for a good one.
Try the 106rallye register as theres a few on there for sale

heres the ad for the 106 rallye and a few pics
its done 86k miles and hes the second owner
*THIS IS THE RARER NON SUNROOF MODEL*
I can only describe the car as being extremely nice for its age and is standard except for the following:
As New 14in Sparco Chromadora's in White with Pirelli Zero Rubber
Pug Sport de-cat exhaust system + Supersprint 4-2-1 s/s exhaust manifold
ITG panel air filter in standard airbox
-30mm Eibach lowering springs (front) and rear torsion bar lowered accordingly

Its had a recent full service inc cam belt at 85k, and is taxed and mot'd until Oct

what do u think i should do, my corsa is a 1.4 n reg 50k miles lowered 50 mm with scorpian monza b/box and clear rear lights and clear indicators and m3 mirrors ? :boggle:
