gary im using the fuel pump off the calibra in my corsa.

Disconnect the fuel lines (both of them ) from the fuel rail, and turn the engine to ignition to pump the fuel pump.

There should be fuel coming out if ur hearing it pump

Maybe u got ur lines mixed up.

Fuel entry into engine is on the right hand side of the rail (nearest the rad tank)

Return is nearest the fuel pressure regulator (in fact below it)

If this fails

Pop out the pump and connect + and -ve ends to the battery and let it run for a sec

make sure its connected firmly to all hoses.

Check fuel filter isnt blocked

Pop off the line to the filter and turn the key to check if the pump supplies it with fuel.

I dont really fancy hitting it. It's my luck that it would break. I have still got the donor car for the engine,a J reg Calibra. Would the fuel pump out of that fit and be easy to change over?

i had the same problem. to fix it wot you do it take the fuel pump out of the car and hit it on the floor a couple of times then connect it to a car battery. this will then get all the crap out of it. if it still doesn't work then keep hitting and shaking it. once it works put it back and replace the fuel filter as one is only £8.

Hope this helps, as it worked with me

Got my car back from having a C20XE fitted on friday night. Everything was ok until i went to Donny last night and when i got in the car to go home it wouldnt start. It turns over ,there is a good spark, and i can hear the fuel pump relay click. I took off the black cap on the fuel rail and pushed the bleed valve in and nothing came out. I cant hear the fuel pump under the back seat buzz. I have got an FSE valve fitted if it makes any difference. I think the fuel pump has packed up due to the extra demand for fuel from the valver.
:boggle: But it could also be an immobiliser or ECU fault. Any suggestions?
