cheers TOMAS, iw as jsut thinking about porting. jsut about to post sumin.

i've been looking at some sub specs telling me the size of the port and everything, but nothing about the depth :boggle:

also what's involved in tuning?

Fill your box full of slats of wood glued down to reduce the size inside or port the box but get it tuned correctly, a 12" ported would sound nice in 2cuft.

i've already got the box, and it's a quality made box so im not getting rid of it now....

im gonna have to go a find a shop to listen to the kicker and rockford together i think.

k seen the specs for the W3 and my box is too big...

originally i wanted a rockford fosgate sub which would fit nicely into this box ( a range of 0.9-2.79 cubic foot)

it's the 3412 BTW....

another sub i've found which works well in this box in the Kicker comp VR 400RMS bugger - n e opinions on this one?

actually from what i can find the Rockford 3412 and the kIcker are my only choices for around £140 so which would you go for?

the amp will be a Kenwood monblock 400RMS...

ta for n e help

matt

it is, but it is also carpeted i don't want to screw that up....

also would that JL W3 15in work well in a 2.0 box (sealed) ? or could i just get away with a 12" JL ??

as long as the face of the box is big enough for a 15 yeh

sorry (doh! ) 12" mate.

i like the sound of JL subs but i was looking at the specs of them and it seemed te max size was 1.75 for a 12"....

suppose i could cut the hole bigger for a 15" JL :boggle: - is that wise?

the box is sealed, i bought it thinking about buying a rocky foss sub and bearing in mind bigger sealed boxes offer better sound...

i don't know if i want the rocky fosgate n e more, so i need some other sub suggestions.

i've looked at JL, alpine, audiobahn, lightning audio, but my box is too big for the subs to work well!

n e suggestions?

budge it anything around £150 mark

cheers for n e help :)
