Alternator will be on the left mate not right as all belts are on the left, and I would perosnally say it is your alternator belt, I too have this problem, I changed my belt and it still makes the noise but only when cold, do you guys reckonm I should tighten it? | |

change it next week!!! othervise might be very expensive headwork ahead... over 1000£ if its bad.... | |

You have to copy and paste the link into address bar, sorry. It's a squealing noise. Dunno if cam belt has ever been changed, not since I've had it anyway. It's done 40,000 miles. | |

think it migh be alternator belt. others shouldnt make noise. cambelt shouldnt, but will it even give warning if it goes? | |

What different belts will I have on my engine? When I start my engine I get a squealing noise, till it's warmed up a bit, I'm guessing a belt needs tightening/replacing? It's an X14XE. Cheers :) |
