His gearbox may be an F10. The only pre-1995 gearboxes above the F10 were the F13 for an SRi and the F15 for the GSi. The F10 gearbox is not suitable for the C16XE engine, but an F13 gearbox will be just fine. In fact, the F13 gearbox was used for GSi's after 1995.

Your car will ahve an F13 gearbox. GSi's come witha n F15 gearbox. But, you should be able to fit your current gearbox with no problems. Should just about hit the rev limiter in 5th as well (117mph).

If you can carry passengers in the rear with no problems, then you should be ok with an engine and box I would think.

Well i gotta pick up a C16Xe engine very soon, if i put the engine in the boot and remove the passenger seat and put the gearbox there will it be ok. Cars lowered 40mm on 17's!!!!

Mav, yes it will fit in the boot, you'll need two people to lift it in and out though.

alrite mate. it is a basic swop, you basicaly need everyfin from under the bonnet of a sport, ie engine, wireing loom, ecu. rnt sure bout the box you may be able use urs

After having a quick search, i believe that it should be a straight swop, but the ratios on the gearbox are slightly different @ lower end...
