use your old speaker mount, cut out the old speaker and glue in your new 6.5" comps! I have alpines and they fit like the old 1's!

quote:it's easier to take the door cards out and then just snap the grill bits out with some snips it's really easy then just screw your new speakers in..oh and the 3.0 gsi is mine iv'e had it a couple of years now and i bought it modded. i only use the corsa in the week as the veccy is a bit juicy to use all the time

dannycorsa c car looks good with the new speakers - its clean and doesnt look like and after-thought, like alot of these cars u sometimes see with upgraded speakers........i like it........... what speakers are those anyway dannycorsa c ?
||posted on 31st Aug 03 at 13:31|
dannycorsa is right i put mine behind the original door cards and they don't sound to good.
||posted on 31st Aug 03 at 12:58|
i also thought about doing that but wanted a better sound and on the corsa C the grill were the speaker is the slots face down so it would push the sound down i recon!

the speaker size on the corsa c is 17cm.i know because i swapped my door speakers about a month ago.really easy on the corsa c.also they have the pods allready fitted to the door so you can fit quite a deep speaker into them.oh and and the tweaters are on a different bit of the loom so they still work fine.i don't know about the rears as i put 6 x 9's in the parcel shelf and disconnected them:thumbs:

Are the speakers easy to fit?? what about the tweeters??

I have 17cm Phoenix Gold components in the doors. You will need the Autoleads 17cm adapter kit. You can also buy the 13cm adapter kit and leave the small plastic ring off to fit 17cm.:thumbs:
