a 200 bhp N/a car would probs be fine on the f20, but its the torque as miles said which will destroy the box. it can only cope with 200 ibs/ft of torque, that on the limit already with a standard let.

An LSD might put more strain on the box, rather than the wheels spinning the torque away, they will be gripping and putting the strain through the transmition.

It make only be an extra 50bhp, but its also an extra 60lb/ft of torque. Thats what does it in.

as most people on migweb will tell u mate.....

Its a pretty straightforward conversion. Drop the LET in to the GTE engine bay, use either F20 or F28.

F28 requires converting to FWD, and costs £££, but prob cheaper in long run. (Better choice)

LET will eat thru F20, especially if tuned, altho these boxes are very easy and cheap to come by.

Yes u are correct in that PVD do a F28 FWD conversion kit.

Matt

PS: Dont mention "Transfer box" when u ask for help. This is a box used on Callys and cav 4x4s for AWD use. Not used and nothing to do with this discussion, just confuses ppl.

hes got the standard gte 16v box(dunno if thats f20 or not)
i understand you need a courtney/pvd kit to modify the 6 speed box?
i dont think 50 more brake will be that hard on a box, plus hes talkin bout puttin an lsd in too.

I know theres no GTE Turbo,im just tryin to find out whether or not he can use his original gearbox with the turbo lump.
i'll do a search on it,but as matty said this is a corsa site,so doubt it will turn up any results
cheers

no such thing as a gte turbo mate

u get a calibra and a cav turbo (c20let)

has been done a few times, do a search, topic has been discussed million times

Loads of people have, you need to convert the box to 2wd if you want to use the f28 6 speed, or just use a f20 5 speed from a non turbo (if the engine will stay standardish)
