and thank you kris, I thought it would be like this, I mean why would vauxhall make loads of different looms, quite simply they wouldn't, cheaper production this way and the bits could just be added when needed if the customer chose them on their options form

not really lacky when it is a lot of trouble getting one in good condition with all the above.
Especially on a 1.2 which she wants to keep very low insurance, we looked at a lot of em and a lot more was wanted for ones with the above and that is a one off cost, its better for us to add it bit by bit, it may end up costing the same but we get to spread the cost then, and wheres the fun in buying a car all done and ready, much more fun this way

sell the car and buy one the already has the leccy bits init?

common sense really. :!

right, an l reg ls DOES have the lomb for leccy mirrors, just not the bit in the door, all you need to do this are the mirrors themselves, the switch, the inside door lombs, relay and the plastic trims. its all plug and play.

same with the mirrors, the indoor lomb has leccy mirrors, windows and central locking on it.

and the insurance co wont hang me by the balls cause with it being a mod it will be declared just like an air filter or side skirts

and of course I'm doing the work myself.
I wouldn't ever go to a mechanic, worthless pieces of human rip off merchant garbage.
And as dan says it wont end up on its arse, I mean for a start I ain't gonna feck it up, fitting a new steering rack isn't exactly difficult now is it.
You'de have to change the entire car loom???? why, surely I can just add the wires that I need to with some crimp connectors, thats how you normally add things, a lot of people seem to have a if it aint broke don't fix it attitude, why, its all part of the fun

my car has eps disconnected it,power steerin knocks off after about 20 mph any how,so if he does fit it him self the worsed that could happen is that it doesn't work cos if it fails he'll still have his steering rack, just means sterring will be heavier, and as for swapping a whole loom for 1 car to the other for electric windows etc,i think its the best way of doing it most tidiest way,who cares how much work is in volved at the end of the day he obviously has the spare time and it might not be worth it to half of you's but to him and his g/f it probably is,so i say go for it mate

so your willing to replace the whole loom of the car front to back for electric windows? your best off getting a universal shoddy bit of crap mate, not trying to be mean or what just simpler to type seein as its 6am and ive just got in from a mental night at work.

anyhow, non electric power steering?
on a corsa? didnt think they were stupid enough to do that.
the mechanical one was highly crap, hence electric ones replaced it within a couple of months.
besides it may be a 100 from the broker but its gonna cost you at least tripple that to fit, and if you do it yourself, and the car looses steering ends us on its arse and written off, you get the blame. the insurance people will hang you by the balls mate!

well maybe i'll knock the microscan alarm on the head but the main thing I'm interested now is the power steering, you've said costly but I have to disagree, my local breaker today said if he has a corsa with power steering in, non electric he will do it for under a hundred quid which I don't consider bad considering the car was only £900 and we we're prepared to pay a grand anyway so that doesn't seem so bad.
And you say nightmare unless you have the loom on the leccy mirror front but obviously I would take this from the donor car

electric windows, lil tricky electric colour coded mirrors nightmare unless you have the loom and i know you wont have and central locking along with an alarm. microscan central locking 2 dr kit is good, the alarms a shit!
For now, I'll shall start on the styling once I've done those main bits to it.
Things I am wondering, I have been looking at PAS today, am I right in thinking all I need is the PAS pump, PAS rack, pipework, reservoir, belt and possibly intermediate shaft section. that and an ecu upgrade tones on man hours an engine life and some insanity Could someone please confirm this?
Also what reg could I take it from as I understand that they started using electric power steering on newer models, when did this happen and is it possible to use this instead maybe? race lift generation or sri's with air bag, mind yourself removing the airbag

I am going to add a microscan alarm soon dont do it muppet with central locking output, does anyone know if this can interface with the standard corsa central locking or would that be difficult easy if you know how as I doin't really wanna buy one of those crappy cheap looking after market CL kits as they don't look anywhere near as good as oe ones and I would like to get em out of a breakers if possible. goodluck
Could anyone tell me what parts I would need to add the CL and leccy windows. youd need cl and leccy window motors runners wires buttons new door cards and stupidity
Also what would I need for the mirrors. like the windows but with mirrors

Thanks to all who help and I hope you can.
Sorry its so much writing but what the hey, you all have nothing better to do right :):D

okay thats my bit added.
now dont think im slagging or insulting you in anyway, im not.
my g/f had a ls 1.2 8v heap of crap... it was bare, nothing could be added without tonnes of man hours, more electrical diagrams then the national grid, your door cards loom, ecu half the engine bay would need redoing and in all fairness what you are asking as stupid, i sugggest she either sells the car and gets a better corsa with all the above as standard or leave her car with only A GOOD alarm, no spark or micro crap as i could beat in withing 4 seconds and youd never see you car again, they are flawed shoddy and not worth the 2nd hand chips there made with.
trust me i almost lost my car because of them alarms!

hpoe you see sence mate.

My corsa is 1999 T reg and is electric power steering. I guess it must be the facelift model (they also colour coded half of the bumper) when EPS came in. Not sure of exact year.

I have interfaced a remote locking kit with my corsa central locking... works great...

Hi guys, I'm a total newb to this forum but not to car mechanics and modding.
I am here to mod my girlfriends car as mine is a rover and I shall not be converted ever so please don't try ;)
She has a bog standard corsa b 1.2 merit L reg.
Things I would like to add to it are power steering, electric windows, electric colour coded mirrors and central locking along with an alarm.
