This is true, check the wiring and everything, dont think they are expensive to fix though.

Just out of interest, what colour wire is the link at the back of the speedo?

Might have a quick look at the fuel pump area but if not, think it mught have to be a garage.

dont think its a float, more like a resistive switch if it works like some other water level monitors.

Haynes manual says something along the lines of.

1. make sure fuel tank is more or less empty.

2. working inside the vehicle fold the rear seat cushion forwards and remove the carpet to reveal the plastic fuel pump cover.

It has warnings all over it about sparks and fuel vapour!!!!

Maybe best getting a garage to do it.

Could just fill your tank up and count the miles..... so you don't run out

other than checking wiring at back of your instrument panel, i'd say your fuel sensor is fooked. not sure about checking the fuel sensor, never had a problem with it on my old corsa

Thought as much, but fuel light is on, checked behind the dash, took the dials out have a look behind there, all looks well. Where abouts around the fuel tank, under the car??

Where is the sensor?

thanks

Brobably a loose wire for the sensor.

Have a look round the fuel tank, or maybe behind the dash.

My fuel gauge has gone from full to reading empty with the warning light on. Car is full of fuel as I filled it up an hour ago.
When driving it suddenly dropped down, did it the other day but started working again and was working this morning, but now its broken!

Anyone any ideas what could be wrong and how to fix it??

Thanks:thumbs:
