thats what i thought, it also said on the site that 4awg can take like 150 amps, which is 1800w. But yeah, looking at the size of the wire, i find it hard to believe that i will need anything bigger. I think im gonna go for 4awg splitting into 2x 8awg. Time to get saving now anyway, off to work!

1 guage has an overall diamter of like 3cm, its huge and very very expensive. 4 guage is about 10mm and it pretty damn big, you would struggle to get much thicker than this in.

1 guage is rediculous, having said that so is 2 guage. 4 guage is plenty big enough

Just been reading this help section to try and find out what gauge wire i will need to run certain power amps, and it says i need 2awg wire for a 1400w amp. My install is hopefully going to have 2 1400w amps, so will i need to run 2 lots of 2awg cable to the boot, or can i get a 1awg and split it into 2 with something like this? I've just blown my last sub, and am saving up for my new ones, so thought i may as well uprate the wiring in the mean time! |
