right ive stripped the cable out (gonna get a whole new 1)
Also gonna get new rear brake shoes, and fit my astra 2.0 calpiers, new vented disks, and ebc green stuff pads. Change the brake fliud. Set it up as good as i can, then get the whole braking system checked.

Also theres a slight lip on the edge of the drum, think im gonna gring it down a bit, any else done this?

Also how much are new wheel bearings? cos the carriages on my rear ones r loose, they meant 2 b like this? my dad says they r ok, and just to clean them and pack with grease.

cheers

Is this problem causing a lot of heat to build up at the affected wheel???

im fed up of it
if im on a sweeping bend i brake from speed itll try to fishtail i have to ease off brakes correct back on brakes less hard

even on straights itll try to step out on one side!
im have brake fluid changed and braided hoses fitted in a few months time so i think ill have all the brake system checked

one of my rear wheels is locking up under hard breaking
now i dont know which but i can hear and it makes the rear fishtail a little
last year for its mot it had a new handbrake cable
so i dont know if its the cable or bias valve
er help as this is annoying me

mine does it too, its not the rear shoes or cylinders cos i changed all of them, its not air in the brakes cos i bleed them all several times completely changing the brake fluid, its not the brake bias valve cos ive adjusted that several times. handbrake cable it newish (last summer) only thing i can think it is is something in the rear drum is sticking, think ill grease the moving bits up.

Cost me £52 to have the longer one replaced, but that was in quite a pricey garage, and included the price of the cable, and they did do the job sharpish for me.

they say fit them both when u replace 1 mate as u dont want the ballache of havin to do it 2 times...vauxhalls are notorious 4 the handbrake cables as they go round a bend at the back whick is unprotected from rain, water etc! therefore it takes alot of ware and tare! and yes the £40 included both the cables and fittin...mine used to knock...it doesnt now! dont know if he fixed that too???!!

Right, there was a knocking noise comming from rear of car (which is a r-reg 1.2 8v breeze, and it doesnt have a load compensator valve),
I put it up on the ramp and figured it was the aduster on the h/brake rattling on the rear axel as the drivers side of the cable was slack, tightened it up, tried it out, but the back passenger side wheel was still locking up, at bout 5mph

(it seemed to be the only wheel out of the lot that was breaking???)

pulled it and heard the adusters working in the rear drums, thought great problem solved, 1 more pull (not any harder than usual) and BANG!!

So i need a cable and was wondering is the drivers side cable that goes from the aduster above the axel to the drivers side brake available separately?(as it seems to screw into the aduster) Or will i have to buy both cables and the aduster?
Also what kinda price is it gonna b??

please please help:(:o:o
