thats wot need to get hold of really, a sender for an electric speedo from an sri. ive got one out of a nova at the mo but its not much good, it only reads roughly half my actual speed! thing that got me stumped was that newer vaux's corsa astras vectras etc dont have a sender atall, where the cable/leccy sender wud normally screw into the gearbox the hole isnt there just blanked off so how wud these get the speed reading

any gen?

I think the electronic dials must use a sender screwed into the gearbox. When I fitted my digital dash, I didn't use the sender that came with it, I took the pulse from the original Corsa one.
Not much help though.

mine is an eleccy speedo, i think it uses a gearbox sender as when i reverse i get a speed reading here also compared to if a cable driven one was on a car in reverse it would read 0.

I have a 93' 1.4 SPI(60 bhp) and it has no rev counter, I can get dials from a 94' 1.4 MPI(82 bhp) and this one have rev counter. Would this be an easy swap or what, ie do both models have cabel/wire driven speedo??

tried to wire up a dash with electronic speedo to my '96 LS which was cable driven. i tried a speed sender from a 1L 12V Corsa which didnt work atall then i found a sender from a nova 1.4 spi which dus work but the speed is out. so how do the corsa SRi's get the speed? do they have a sender that bolts onto the gearbox cus ive noticed on the later vauxhall ecotec engines theyve done away with the cable/electric sender so how they get the speed?

Cheers, Chris
