Changed plugs, car is a lot more powerful again, no juddering, cured it

Good news on getting a code, should move the plugs rather than replace, see if the fault moves. Although my suspicion is the fault will remain and you may have the same fault as your friend.

Fuel supply wouldn't be peculiar to one chamber and the coil packs are more prone to failure than plugs.

Borrowed a code reader and there were no stored codes, mate of mine had a similar problem with his daughters and the garage said there was a crack in the ignition module

Sounds a bit like fuel pressure but ideally wants a code read to see if its stored anything. Bit of a guess until you're able to see what is being reported.

When driving in 3rd/4th gear yesterday going up a hill the car started to judder and the check engine light flashed 3 times then went off, drove home with no probs, then today when going up hill it did the same again, any ideas.
