sorry if i confused you...

I had a whole bunch of wiring diagrams somewhere i'll see if i can dig them out...

let get this right... you have 2 subs both Dual voice coil and you want to hook them up to a mono amp...

got a type r 2 ohm and it shows in the instructions what i stated above, thats dual voice coil. may be different for other subs but thats what im going on. i dont really understand what youve said diggity! ami running the correct stuff?

not quite.... all depends if you using Dual voice coil(DVC) sub or not...

if your running one sub and it DVC sub you can wire it to show a 2 ohm load or 4 ohm load.

with a Single voice coil(SVC) it will be 4 ohms... although you can get anything from 2-8 ohm subs.

with 2 SVC subs it will be 2 ohms(Parallel) or 8 ohm(series)

with 2 DVC subs it will be anything from 1 ohm to 4 ohm depending on how you wire them(Parallel)

if you running one sub then you need 2ohm, if you running 2 off one amp you need 4 ohm subs.

the 2 ohm load would give a higher power output and would be louder as long as set up correctly.

make sure the amp you are using is 2 ohm stable though, in most cases monoblocks are :)

ah i get it now :) cheers.

would the 2ohm one be louder? i've dug out me manual for me subs and it says i can do both of these (Alpine s-type).

Just read your manual on how to bridge an amp. it's uselly the two outside positive and negitive terminals.

But only if your amp is bridgable !!!

Parallel Wiring

u can just run them in parallel, will double the impedance, but will b ok...

i wondered this before. Austin will tell u how its done. He made me a little diagram on how you can bridge the amp to run 2 subs. i think it makes the subs run at higher ohms tho. not really sure, but it worked for me :D

can you run 2 subs off of these, if you can how?

i read someones install somewhere and he a mono block with two subs i think,

i know mono blocks are one channel, but i thought that meant you could only run one speaker?? :boggle:
