What's the model of the headunit?

As Ian mentioned, check (multimeter set to DC, measure between the remote and ground) that the remote from the headunit (usually blue but it sounds like it's purple in your case) goes to 12v when you switch the headunit on.

Otherwise use the ignition live, easier to splice (scotch block) into the headunits loom (usually yellow but it should say in the headunits manual) rather than the Corsa's and take that to the amp's remote.

Again as mentioned, make sure the amp has a permanent fused live and check to make sure you're getting 12v's there.

Can you check the remote wire for 12v?

Also - sub feed will need to be present?

I've tried to wire the sub remote to the purple cable and there was no light to the sub

You shouldn't try and draw any current from the sub remote on the radio.

The sub remote is a very low current signal to the amp that the radio is on.

The sub should draw its power from a dedicated feed which comes from the battery and is fused in the engine bay.

Also sounds like if its labelled remote then its the purple one you want. If you have a multi-meter that should go to 12v and back to zero as you turn the radio on and off.

Telephone mute normally mutes when you ground that pin, run that to any earth point to check that although you won't be using it unless you're fitting a phone kit.

The head unit doesn't have wiring... it just has 2 cables coming out a blue and purple. The blue is labelled tel muteand the ppurple is labeled oe remote. I have wired the blue remote wire front the sub to it but nothing works

Amp 12v live should be wired to your battery and the remote for giving the amp the signal to turn on is a small thin blue wire that you connect to the same coloured wire on the headunit wiring

you should have 2 red wires on the corsa's loom, 1 is from the battery perminant live, the other is from the ingnition switched live (can also be black). you realy shouldnt connect your subs trigger to these though. usuall a blue wire from the radio to switch amps, ariels etc.

Does anyone know what colour wire the ignition cable is on the stereo loom?
I have a Philips stereo that plugs straight into the corsa stereo loom it doesn't need the extra loom that comes with a lot of stereos
I need to find out which one the ignition one is to connect sub remote cable to as the 2 cables coming out of the stereo don't work. Have enough power
