Nothing wrong with a power box, I was very impressed when I fitted one. I dout ull see much power diffrence between a power box and throttle body's maybe like a few bhp, throttle bodies would have a better flow. It's only because the original inlet is restrictive that the power box performs so well.

Brand new your lookin at thousands with management and mapping etc. every now and again a kit comes up on here second hand which would be your best bet tbh mate :) if not go the power box route with some decent cams and management can see good power from the x14/x16 engines

At the moment you have one throttle body that feeds 4 cylinders with air, with a throttle body kit that your thinkin of there are 4 individual throttle bodies so therefore each cylinder gets its own direct supply of air. More air = better mixture = more power etc. Theres loads of info on all the tuning sites like SBD and that :)
