so is an induction kit like one of those bolt on cones ?

so the other alternative is just to get a better panel filter for the box ?

Is that right ? ive gotta get my head round this once and for all lol

cheers

induction kits are no use on 8v engines.

Induction kits are purely for show. They suck in to much hot air due to there design. No amount of cold air feeds will stop that.

Get a performance panel filter and improve the intake pipe into the air box. This will give you the highest bhp gain and cost you the least!

well yeah, for the power actually, mate shoved one on his saxo, say's it's better than ever now, so i was thinking that it does something.

So you're saying just shove a hose to somewhere where air gets in better, and change the filter to an uprated one ?

Kinda thing ?

it's a thingy that does something to something, and make it do something better

What is an 'induction kit' ?

For ages now I've always thought it was just a performance filter with cold air being forced into it when you drive along ??

Is that right ? :boggle:

Is it possible to somehow get a cold air feed into a standard air filter box ?

i had a RamAir on my 1.4i and it was alot quieter & more free flowing than the K&N i had on previously.

was a bit smaller also.

why the hell do you want an induction kit then?
please dont say for power.
just replace the current filter with a uprated one and add a better cold air feed. dont drill it if you dont want noise.

I got a 93 Corsa SRi 1.4 8v

Just wondered what the quietest induction kit is available for it, because it's loud enough already from the exhaust, and i don't really want/need it too much louder.

Cheers
