Not worth replacing with coloured LED's until all the standard ones have gone out tbh.

quote: It says in the Haynes manual. But is a bit odd. Put the fan speed dial in the vertical position (number 3 I think). Then get a small flat head screwdriver. Push it up the hole at the bottom, and there is like a catch. You need to push that up so it actually clears the fan adjuster, and pull the dial at the same time. I also broke mine when I did it. But found the black plastic bit, stuck it on, and it has been fine ever since. Except I blew the heated screen bulb

quote:  The hardest thing on 1999+ iirc, is that you have to split the back from the front. I was trying to use flat head screw drivers and everything. Little did I know that if you just pull it hard, it comes apart  [Edited on 22-11-2007 by deano87]

I done this a few months ago. I takes a bit of time. You ahve to remove the two vents above the heater controls, then the screws behind there. I think there might be more screws at the bottom near the ashtray, can't remember. Remove the wiring and control lines (this may not be necessary, but I did it to give me more room). On the back of the heater control bit you should be able to see the bulbs, with some footering and fidgiting they can be replaced, then, as Mr haynes says, refitting is the reversal of removal.
