All depends on what size your model B has fitted, either 5" or 6".

Theres 2 types of speakers; Components - this is where the tweeter & woofer are seperate, a crossover spits the sound coming from the souce & sends the treble to the tweeter and mid/bass to the woofer.

The other type is Coaxial, this is wear the tweeter is built into the woofer and is all as one speaker.

Components are only really needed if you want quailty & clarity in your music, wether you use an Amp on not, depends on how loud you want to go. Your head unit will probably provide around 50w of sound to each door speaker, as a rule Comp & Coax door speakers take up to about 350w depending on there rating, so an amp makes a big difference.

Pioneer & Infinity are both very good speakers if your buying Coaxial.

If your interested in some Components and a very good set, I have some brand new Vibe Space 5" 3D Comps for sale - ebay clicky

Basically I'm looking to upgrade the front door speakers and rear speakers in my B for some better quality than standard ones. I wouldn't need an amp or any extra wiring would I? and whats the difference between the ones with built in tweeters? do they replace the standard tweeters in the door handles?
