Yeah but if there's any residue on the inside of the seal that can come in contact with the oil it can cause bits to break off which will get into the oil pump,

It's perfectly fine to use just be careful with it :thumbs:

Be careful with silicone based sealants as they contaminate oil, only use a little bit as you don't want it weeping over the edges inside your engine as its can cause the oil pump to block up

a mate said he once used stuff that stayed a bit tacky and it blocked his oil pump and everything up :(

a few things, 1. being putting the crank back in on a XE, its needs a bit of sealer around the flywheel side behind the crank shaft oil seal if you know were i mean?

iv been told i should get loctites black stuff sold at halfords and such....?
