revving on own, icv normally,
cts will casue hunting, not normally revving
egr can cause alsorts, hunting and revving and not starting alltogether.

The cts controls fuel and air mixture.

Ifs its wrong the engine can run rough, or be hit to start (usually when warm)

I'm unsure, but the car revving itself COULD POSSIBLY be, the cars way of burning off the extra fuel which is being pumped into it.

second art is an educated guess, not fact.

You have two faults here more than likely though

replace the temp sensor ? that wouldn't make it rev on its own tho would it ? need to look into that too

CTS. The actual sensor is small. Just replace it for the sake of £6 or whatever they are from vauxhall.

I'm not hundred percent what he did he was faffing around and plugged in again after but not sure if he took it off and put it back on .. and ok il get them cleaned up then see how it goes hopefuly no erratic accelerating thanks for the help

I'd definetley try cleaning first. See how it runs then. You could drive it, but wouldn't recommend it. Mine would idle really low and take off erratically when you accelerated.

It could also be a sticky idle control valve. Again, cleaning it may help.
