Vauxhall wheels are 56.6mm centre bore and ET49 offset

mk2 Golf wheels are 57.1mm centre bore and are likely to be ET35-38

So... They will fit, if you bore the centres out by 0.5mm, but they'll sit too far in under the arches.

You could use spacers but you're gonna need 15mm ones at least, with a 57.1mm inner bore size and 56.6mm outer, which means they're custom....

The other option is to use VW Estoril wheels, which look very similar but are the right fitment already.
