yer would be good cheers
and yer oneday maybe aftermarket ecu but for a while get standard mapped so it will run ok and not be lean or cause any damage is the main concern. is that like a tune up or a proper couple hundred pound on the road live mapping for the standard ecu? Is it ok with standard o2 sensor and mapped or will it not be enough?

Yeah I got the enlarged throttle body from a friend with the dbilas, I can get a pic if you like?

Standard ecu can be mapped, and a wideband can be used yes, wont be as ideal as proper custom managment though.

can the standard ecu be mapped to suit? and is a wideband o2 sensor needed?

Fueling is adjusted from the 02 sensor to a point, from there you will need your ecu mapped or aftermarket management.

i have a mantzel for sale as i replaced mine when i rebuilt the head with another one i had cleaned up.

also i asked courtenay about the enlarged throttle body a while ago too? they said it was worth it with a mantzel but what about fueling? and its around £200 odd to get done supplying your own throttle body too.

have you guys got any pics of your inlets and enlarged throttle bodies? especially the vauum hose routing too
please :)

were/how did you get that then pal?

Ive got one as well Courtney Sport did mine.

There not hard to fit just very annoying and time consuming, but make alot of difference!

Well worth it in my opinion.

I had a ported throttle body on mine, your o2 sensor should add more fuel anyway.

On the rollers the AFR was perfect.

why do people put enlarged ones on? uprate the fuel or something?

Phillips_91

posted on 9th Jul 11 at 09:06

why would you need a bigger throttle body? all you'll do is fill the cylinders with air, you wont be getting enough fuel in

will a throttle body off a bigger engine fit with no fuss?

what/were do people get enlarged ones from, or is it a diy job?

Not hard, just annoying.

how much would i be looking at for a second hand throttle body aswell. cleaned mine out the otherday as the throttle gets stuck shut. you've got to propper stomp on the pedal to get it unstuck, and once thats done its normally fine unless your sat stationary for a while it gets stuck again. i had wd40 and the lasses toothbrush working overtime on it the otherday, seemed ok at first but its getting stuck again so going to replace it when i get the box i think

Any will do, As long as its decent quality, a proper dbilas or manzel is best but not cheap.

My 1.4 is transformed, Low down theres a lack of torque but it starts pulling over 3k and will go right to the limiter pulling strong.

Refitting the standard exhaust improved it tenfold too.

mine doesnt seem to have a limiter :look:

and i plan on a better exhaust mani at some point, the 4.1 is canny naff and still clips the ground sometimes on 30mm front drop on 195/45/15's

They transform the car. Get a new one like in the link.

Or if you can find one, get a Dbilas one.

The powerbox massively improves performance in the upper rev range.

Was very noticeable on any of my c16 or x16's

the power gain wasnt very noticeble on my c16xe fitted velos powerbox and decat but made 118bhp on the dyno at pvs

im planning on getting a power box for my 1.6. already got 4 branch and de-cat...

just a few questions...

1) are they hard to fit (i know there's a how to thread in tutorials) but what's YOUR opinions?

2) witch one should i go for on (on a budget) second hand decent or brand new like this...?
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=260809305965&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT#ht_5517wt_1139
discuss brands...

3) is it hard to get the throttle body connected or does it just bolt on?

and

4) are the power gains actually very noticeable, iv heard mixed reviews

cheers ladies and gents
