just get the rca cables. gives you a far wider choice for an amp then instead of one that has to have high level inputs

One of my old Alpine amps' has them, its a T303 puts out 150RMS at 4ohm Bridged so no good really for a Sub.

if u search m8, there is a thread with exactly the same questions + answers to what u need.

It is possible to have an amp and sub connected to the standard SXI headunit cos i have it done, It was done by my local ice fitter.

I beleive they ran an RCA cable from the rear speaker wires to an amp that supports this connection?

I hve a 4 channel kenwood amp powering a set of infinity Kappa components + kenwood DB 10" sub.

an fm modulator is for audio INPUT into a head unit.

you can buy a modulator thing which you wire into you standard speakers, and it gives you the pre-outs. Motorist centres do them for £20-ish
