oh right well cheers for the help and info!! i've got some spare sensors and parts up my mates yard so i'll have a little play when i can get up there... wont be till next week tho as i'm busy and am going to jap fest at castle combe race circuit on sat! but im sure it will be fine! probally have ago with abit of wd40 on the connectors and clean up some earths untill then tho!

it wont run without a crank sensor

it will run without crank sensor but wont retard the ignition. it will run because the crank sensor is connected. it may differ but my engine started without it

bad earths maybe, check the resistance on the engine

done the paper clip test got;
21- throttle posit5ion sensor (High voltage)

31- Engine RPM signal (crank shaft sensor) (no signal)

94 - Hall effect switch (HES) (High voltage)

Anyone want to shed some light on this now? i understand the tps is either breaking down or has a bad connection, and the other two are probally connected.. but from experience if theres no signal for the crank shaft sensor the car shouldn't run??

As Ian said, Get it to a garge with a Diagnostics machine. Also leave it longer than 1hr 30mins for a reply. :P

Could be loads of stuff, normally you would read out the fault code to find out.

Hey was driving my xe corsa earlier when all of a sudden the engine management light came on, there was no difference in the engine still performed well and only seems to happen in high gears at high revs. any know wat this could be? also would like to hear of any problem, symptoms and fixes people have had via the engine management light???? cheers chad
