If he can hear tapping from the engine, then you KNOW the pump isn't working right...or there isn't sufficient oil in the system. | |

open your oil filter?! Oil will piss out everywhere if the pump is working! The oil is under pressure! | |

start ya car up, open ya oil filler and if u can c oil cumin up then its not ya oil pump, it will probs b ya pressure switch, if u jack ya car up and slide underneath its just above the sump under the alternator hope this helps coz i had the same problems | |

low oil WILL cause low pressure though... so it has a lot to do with oil leval. | |

btw. plus don't put too much oil in it trying to make the light go off, as this can cause damage too! | |

On a 16v The switch is on the back of the engine under the alternator. | |

Check switch and go from there. Affraid I cant help as to where it is or how to do it. Haynes manuel should help. | |

i have put oil in it i put 1/2 a bottle in someone was saying the pressure switch is a common fault at first it flickered but now its staying on | |
