right lets start again at the moment there is no coolant in my bottle apart from a little bit when the engine is cold eg not started!!! but if i run my car round the block and then open the bottle up the coolant goes up2 the minimum line , problem is should it not stay at the minimum line whether its hot or cold?????

yes but say i went out now popped the bonnet there will be hardly any coolant in the resovoir say 1/2" of coolant, but if go out and drive for 10 minutes then pop the bonnet open the resovoir it will fill back up 2 normal max/min mark

water expands when it gets hot mate as the coolant will run about 90oC its not surprising the coolant comes back upto normal level -mine does this.
coolant should be checked when cold

HIYA last year i blew my head gasket thats when i decided to tune to engine why it was stripped lol but the problem is i had it repaired at vauxhall and since it has been done the coolent resovoir is allways empty when the engine is cold except for bout 1/2" of fluid but if i drive for say 10 minutes then check the resovoir it fills back up to normal level is this normal as its bugging me ??????? when should the coolent be checked hot or cold??? my gasket is not gone because car runs mint does not over heat, no gunge in my oil, no oily film in the resovoir so it is normal???? checked for leaks and had the gasket checked to? cheez
