Keep the bracket though and see if you can source an equal length shaft.

It's meant to stop torque steer.

That bracket is for an equal length shaft. If you've just got one long shaft then unbolt that bracket its not needed

i have gone to fit the drive shafts in to a f20 gearbox. on the drivers side at the rear of the engine block is a l shaped bracket with a hole through it.it looks like the shaft should go through this. is it a drive shaft damper. or does it simpley stop the shaft from coming back out of the gearbox.
