in the engine bay look roughly in the centre of the bulkhead, you'll see 2 water pipes, thats them

might be better to put a u-bend to join them and bypass the matrix rather than just clamping them in the meantime, until you get the matrix replaced

ah now thats an amazing idea, wheres the pipe i need to clamp, in the engine bay???

just clamp the pipes off that go into your heater matrix from the heater matrix! then your engine will still oparate with the cooling system but it will bypass the heater matrix

nope no haynes manual

got sum manual in my cuboard sumplace for a corsa but its not a haynes one,

right so if mines leaking water what is it gona be the actual matrix or a pipe/hose

i'll have to go and get one off my mates sport before he scraps it

no pics im afraid, no you don't have to remove dash. do you have a haynes manual?? gives a simple guide in there how to do it. its basically removing some plastic covers from behind your stereo, then you'll see the matrix (looks like a small radiator) get in to engine bay, locate where water pipes connect to matrix pipes and remove the hose clips and pull off the hoses

my mates just rip everything out of his 1.4 sport, it going 2 scrap i'll get the one out of his,

any pics of it??

i take it means removing the entire dash??

its quite easy to replace. just a few bolts holding the cover around it behind centre console, and you undo the two pipes that go through bulkhead and its pretty much it iirc. think vox ask aorund £80 for a new matrix, best bet is go to your local scrappy, got mine for a tenner.

yes its probs ur heator matrix when i first put my xe in my corsa i didnt put the heater matrix pipes on rite and it was leeking and runing down into the car u could try that?

Forbes789

basicly my cars been using a lot of water lately as in a leaking pipe or something, cant see anywhere where there could be a leak or that, so my first reaction was the head gasket but no gunky oil or smoking out the exhaust then i found a LOT of water in the carpet on the passenger floor well

so anyone had any similar problems its a bit of a mistery

only really other thing i can think of is something with the heater matrix?

any ideas?
