Youve got the right pipe there, the idea of a catch tank is to catch the oil from going into the inlet, in theory you should get oily air going into the tank, the oil stays in the tank and the breather gasses go back into your inlet to be burnt.

Although it is perfectly acceptable to just leave the other pipe on the catch tank open and vent it to atmosphere and then you would need to block up the pipe as you have with the red tape. Sometimes you can smell oil though when you do it that way

infrotn of oyur dipstick the 2 pipes connecting to the rocker cover...
leave the larger one, this is you block/crank breather.

the smaller of the 2, disconect the pipe, block it up.. run a new length of pipe from the rocker cover to a catch tank.

heres a quick job i just done now, the little red thing sticking out of a pipe is where i blocked it up, but that pipe was the smaller of the 2, sticking out of the top of the rocker cover.. let me know if this is done correct.

Yeah you have to block that one up or fit it to the other pipe on your catch tank

right, just been looking through an old thread about oil catch tanks and found the the pipe to use is the smaller one out of the 2 on the side of the rocker cover but once i run the pipe from the rocker cover to a catch tank, what do i do with the hole that the pipe originally ran to? just block it up i prasume?

what pipe is best to use when fitting an oil catch tank on a x16xe engine?

also once i move the pipe from its original place to the oil catch tank, do i block up the hole where i move it from?
