Replaced mine, now it doesn't bog down  BUT I didn't have EML.

Ok i will try that, but I cant find the radio code anywhere, so presumably I will lose the use of it after disconnecting the battery?

battery off overnight will work or there is a 30amp fuse you can pull

Right after taking the advice on the forum, I have replaced the crank sensor and the MAF sensor, and its still jumping and the engine management light still comes on randomly. I have not reset the system though, how do you do that?

Any help appreciated

Steam cleaning it shouldnt cause any problems, i do mine twice a week

Personally i would go for the crank sensor judging by what youve said.

Sorry for the lack of detail

it is a 2000 mk 1 I think, it cangaroos a bit and then the light comes on, not all the time though. strangely (or not) it doesn't do it on the way to work in the morning perhaps because of the temperature.

Thanks in advance
Barry

more details needed here.

What year is it for a tsart i'm assuming its a corsa b with the 3 cylinder engine.

Depending on the scan tool that was used crank sensor will sometimes show as a fault if the engine isnt running in which case you can dismiss this but as i say depends on the machine!

Are there any other symptons other than the light coming on.

Without any more info id guess the afm is much more likely!

Hii

Iam sure this will not be your type of car but someone may be able to help

i have just bought the car and the engine management light keeps coming on intermittantly. I have had the diagnostic machie on it and it said that either the crank sensor or the mass air sensor is faulty. Is there any way of telling before i buy both

Any help appreciated

Barry
